Emergency Evacuation Plan
Should an emergency occur while you are at NMSU-A, you will be instructed to follow the procedures implemented by the NMSU-A administration for the evacuation and regrouping of all members of the campus community. Should you be asked to make an emergency call from a campus phone, dial 8-911.
Security Information: In all emergency situations, call 911. Once 911 notification is completed, a courtesy call to a campus-specific security guard is advisable. (Often times a guard on location is the first responder.)

Grading Policy
NMSU's grading policy is outlined in ARP 4.55. More information can be found at https://records.nmsu.edu/.
A Six-Week Early Performance Grade for this course will be posted. You will be able to access your grade through your MY.NMSU.EDU under the Student Tab: Click on Student Record / Midterm Grades. In this class the Six-Week Early Performance Grade will reflect your performance on only a portion of the total graded work in this course. If you are doing well, congratulations on your success – but be mindful that there is still a significant portion of the graded work yet to be completed. If you are doing poorly, or not as well as you would like, please meet with me to discuss how you can improve. If you have concerns about your progress in multiple courses and need to consider a schedule change, meet with your academic advisor.
Students enrolling under the S/U grading option will receive an “S” for "satisfactory" and "U" for "unsatisfactory" as determined by the achievement of the course objectives and the instructor. Students must elect the grading option prior to the last day to add a class.Students should check the course catalog for eligibility and availability of the S/U Option.
Under university policy, incompletes may be given only if a student has a passing grade at mid-semester (the last day to withdraw from a class) and is precluded from successful completion of the second half of the course by a documented illness, documented death, family crisis or other similar circumstances beyond the student's control. An incomplete should not be given to avoid assigning a grade for marginal or failing work. Instructors assigning the “I” grade can choose to make the “I” grade permanent, and require students to register for the course in a subsequent semester to earn credit (Option A), or may allow students to complete remaining work in the course by an identified deadline (within one year) and then submit a change of grade form to substitute the earned grade for the “I” grade (Option B). Requirements for removal of the “I” grade under Option B must be clearly stated on the “I” grade form. Incompletes do not automatically convert to F's if the course is not completed. Under Option B, the faculty member can state on the form that an incomplete will become an F, but then it is incumbent upon the instructor to process a change of grade form to accomplish that result.
Recording Lectures
Class lectures can be recorded and are covered by ARP 11.05, Part 2, Letter I. These recordings should not be distributed by anyone other than the instructor.

Math Tutoring Center
The Math Tutoring Center offers NMSU undergraduate students free help for math courses ranging from Pre-Algebra through Calculus, including Statistics. Tutoring is provided by math graduate students and undergraduates from a variety of STEM disciplines. They currently offer both in person and online help. Writing Center
The Writing Center offers free services to all NMSU students through one-on-one consultations at any stage in the writing process, from understanding assignment directions to revising final drafts. The ICT Customer Service Center is equipped to deal with all of your information technology (IT) and telecommunications needs at NMSU. Academic Support Center
The Academic Support Center provides online and face-to-face tutoring, writing assistance, and is a Pearson Vue Testing Site. Visit the Academic Support Center website for hours and all information on the services.
Aggie Cupboard
The Aggie Cupboard is a free food distribution for NMSU-A students, staff, and faculty with an NMSU-ID number on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of each month from 4-5:50pm at Tays Kitchen near the Adult Education Building.

NMSU-A Office of Veterans Programs main function is to serve as the liaison between NMSU-A students and the Department of Veteran Affairs, including:
- Certifying students for required courses which apply to their degree programs.
- Reporting adjustments of students schedules credit hours, and final grades.
- Ensuring compliance with all VA regulations and standards.

Tutorial Services
The DACC Academic Readiness Centers offer students one-on-one learning assistance with faculty with primary emphasis on math and English. The centers provide small-group study areas, access to computer based educational software, workshops, and instructional support in various forums such as learning communities, Math and English Fast-Track Seminars, and accelerated and integrated courses
All students registered in credit classes may receive FREE learning assistance in most subject areas. The center provides a comfortable and encouraging environment and peer-to-peer tutoring that assists students in achieving academic success. Tutoring is available in most subject areas to include Anatomy & Physiology, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Software Applications, Developmental Math-to-Calculus III, Medical Terminology, Physics, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy. Writing assistance is offered for all disciplines. Math tutoring is the only subject available without an appointment. For all other subjects, appointments are necessary. Test Proctoring
Students may be responsible for arranging test proctoring. Several departments are available to help with proctoring. The DACC Student Resources Testing Center will proctor for a variety of testing needs; fees may apply. For more information please visit https://dacc.nmsu.edu/admissions/testing-services.html or call (575) 528-7294 or (575) 527-7569. In addition, you may take exams from home if your instructor has scheduled the exams with the Proctor U service provider. There is a charge for this service that averages $25 per test, per individual. The charge varies based on the length of the exam and the scheduling time. The service is only available if your instructor scheduled the proctored exam. Contact your instructor if you wish to utilize this service.
Library Services
The library system offers a variety of resources in both print and non-print formats, and promotes leading-edge technology and electronic resources. The student college I.D. serves as a library card for checking out books, which are loaned for three weeks. Financial Aid
As an open-door institution, DACC is committed to providing equal educational opportunities to students regardless of personal, economic, or social conditions. This commitment means helping students overcome financial barriers in getting the education they seek (DACC Catalog). You must attend classes to receive financial aid. If you stop attending or drop any course(s) you may be required to repay all or part of the financial aid received.
Virtual Learning and Instructional Technoloy (VLIT)
VLIT provides services to support online learners. Our primary goal is to support all of your Canvas needs. Visit the VLIT website to sign up for a two-hour student Canvas training or enroll in the self-paced Canvas training online. The VLIT staff is available to answer your online course and technology questions. Career Services
The mission of career services at DACC is to assist students in reaching their personal and professional career goals. Services include career exploration and planning, job skills training, internships and other work-based learning opportunities, assistance with job searches and application documents, and connection to social services. Library
The NMSU Grants Library provides digital access to a variety of academic resources and supplemental print material. In addition, the library offers a variety of Library guides to assist with citations, research, and other tools that are helpful for academic success. Student Success and Testing Center
The Student Success and Testing Center is located in Martinez Hall, Room 125 at the NMSU Grants Campus and provides both tutoring and testing services. Tutoring services include in-person and remote sessions by appointment or by drop-in. Tutoring is available for most subjects.
The teting center at NMSU Grants is a registered Pearson Vue Testing Center. Testing services include both course and certification testing. Students can schedule to take an exam and remote students can schedule to take an exam from another NMSU campus. To schedule, call 505-287-6691.
